I've been looking at Tiburon's for a few years now, creepin' up on any I see parked places and looking in the window etc.
I had never actually been inside one.
I've been car shopping for a few weeks and was about to buy a Passat when I came across a 2003 Cobalt Blue GT V6 with only 70k miles on it.
(Miles is a huge deal because I need/wanted a car with under 90k)
The car is mint and I couldn't resist so I bought it.
They are pretty hard to come by upstate in this condition so I had to drive over 3 hours (each way) twice.
Once to buy it, then today to pick it up.
(No DMV on Sunday)
I'd like to say that I was one of those people that saw people saying how slow it is compared to this and that.
So I was not expecting that much power wise...
This car screams when compared to what I was used to.
I realize a lot of hardcore car peeps on here and other sites like racing and doing shows.
And every kid with a neon thinks he's living inside a fast and the furious film.
And sure, this car will get left behind by some tuned up car, or one that costs twice as much.
But if anyone is googling Tiburons and stumbles upon this, I'd just like to say..
This car will fly by almost any car you see on the highway or driving back and forth from work.
In a realistic day to day situation, in a non-ritsy area, this car is fast.
On my way home I only got the car up to 90, but jesus, it felt like it was just getting started when I hit 80.
I think I'm going to have trouble driving this and sticking to the speed limit.
Not to mention I was at a stop light next to some guy, and the road was going to merge on the other side of the intersection and I didn't want to be behind him.
So I floored it and I swear I crossed the intersection and looked down and I had it past 40, in a 30, and it only took how many feet?
So yes, I am a happy Tib owner.
The fact this car has a lot of pep and is this fun to drive is just a bonus.
The real winner is the looks, even if this thing wasn't fast it looks amazing, in any price range.
I only drove it for 3 hours and I had lotsss of double takes and people slowing down next to me and checking it out.
I feel like every trip to the gas pump everyones eyes are on me.
I am looking forward to doing some mods, I probably won't go crazy on the engine, a new exhaust and such but we'll see!
You guys have already been a great help from my non-member days.
