I'm driving an 06 SE, and just put in the Injen RD intake. I took my time and did it properly, all the rubber couplers are as snug as can be and cranked way down, everything lined up perfectly, MAF is facing the proper direction, etc... After driving it for about two weeks now, I'm noticing my gas millage is *horrible*.
The car sounds mean and does have small but noticeably more pickmeup, but I filled up late Friday and have been rigorously careful not to whomp on it, and after 130 miles I'm just above half tank. Only other mods are Apexi N1 cat-back and short-shifter. Has anyone else noticed this? is it normal? What are some things I can check to make sure it's in health is in check?
I also entertained the idea of using the metallic high-temp tape used to seal ventilation ducts to go around the pipe connections, just to make sure it's 100% air-tight. Thoughts on that?
