My name is Joe, I'm a Florida native who lives near Daytona Beach. I have recently joined after an encounter with another Tiburon on the road shortly after buying my latest Tiburon, He/she kinda cut gracefully in front of me without slowing me at all while Driving in Orlando. I didnt mind since it was another tib especially but this Tib was Modded. The upgraded exhaust system soothed my ears and didnt sound all ricey:3_headsha. Excited about my new Tib I downshifted to catch up SO I could hear more. Once caught In my excitment I swerved so I decided to play it off and completed a kinda in drive steering check. The other Tib driven must of witnessed it all as I noticed The tib was abouth matching my same playful sway as we were held at bay by a slower no-Tib infront of us. After going through a few lights we parted ways leaving we with wondering how much that upgrade would be.
I recently bought my second new, used Tiburon. Its a 2008 GS 5 speed Black Pearl. As far as styling I love it better than my 04 tib gs, Perfomrance though I have a few ?s I wanted a GS cause i prefer a four insted a 6cyl, its just my personal opinion. 94 formula firbird t-tops being my long time car befor my Tibs if it not a 8cyld i need the gas saving or four banger. Also the 6 just 2.7l and four is 2.0l. Thats just .7l more.
In short my 04 2.0 tib seemed faster than my new 08 GS Tib, Both stock. I was hoping to get better performance with a newr model
I've tried to google and search but so far cannot find the difference and since I only can get Dial up at Home its taken forever to do that. I figured that A forum would be around and am happy that there is even a meeting coming up nearby. That being said any help would be great if I could just get a few questions awsered. :3_usehead
1. Is there any difference in the 2.0l engine from 03-08?
2. Wher did my antenna go? (guess its built inside w/ satilight antenna?)
3. Cut all the BS and searching. What is the best apprx $50.00 cold air intake for 2008 gs 2.0? (yes even e-bay heck i would make it if it was cheaper)
4. If a 03-6 or 07 2.7 6cyl model works which is the best? To many, some even have stupid fans or say NOT FOR 2.0 but accourding to thread it works>
5. If i want to get about say 50 more hp can it be done N/A? without FI?
6. If nitro boost r good rout what is a good choice under $500 any experenced GS owners out thr have this upgrade?
I would prefer N/A as turbo would be to costy to make relaible and wouldnt need Nitro but a blue moon, good mood or bad daY.
7. Is the any other changes besides the facelift in 07-08 tibs?
Being a owner of now two Tibs I mau get a GT someday but now am happy with what i got its just Slow
