And just as a note, I've checked the forums but couldn't find anything quite similar to my situation.
and i apologize in advance, this might be a long post..
So a little history first, i bought the car a month ago and i love it. no check engine light. first time manual driver, so the beginning was a little rough. I work at a place with a parking garage, so I wanted to practice before I had to do that. so i'm at a parking garage at a mall at like midnight and I stalled trying to go up, and at angle. For some reason, it wouldn't start (engine wasn't turning), so I let it roll back down to level out the car, turned it off, then restarted it. it turned on like normal, and I never had that issue ever again. however, since that time, the check engine light turned on for whatever reason (if anyone would be able to deduce what specifically happened there, i would appreciate it) so I take it to auto zone and they say its a p0107, so i come to NT and i see a thread about cleaning the MAF and a DIY on how to do it, so i make plans to do that. I never had time so i havent yet, but the other day, I decided to fill the tank up completely, and then I also put in some fuel injector as well. check engine light was still there, but to my pleasant surprise, it turned off within a day or so. i was so happy. I read somewhere on the forums before about the black tape to cover up the light, which i found hilarious, but then it started to feel like it was becoming a slow and painful reality. so it's off and everything is peachy, then today, maybe two days after I put the fuel injector cleaner, the light comes back for no reason. I was coasting at 30 and there it was. and I know that fuel injector cleaner isn't something you put in a lot.
the previous owner had installed a cold air intake, and i've read that having that puts a different amount of oxygen in the engine than the car's computer was programmed to detect, and I was thinking that was the issue, but i'm not entirely sure that's the problem. I'm assuming i will find out if i clean the MAF, but i dont want to do that yet unless i've tried all the other possible solutions. from what i've described here, can anyone guess what might the problem be?
sorry again about the long post, i appreciate your time if you've made it this far.
