Removing rubber door trim??

Well i bought some black trim paint from walmart and did a test spot that i taped off and it looks GREAT. But, the rubber trim is a huge pain to tape off cause its curving and i need like 100 bags so i dont get paint in the wrong place.


I tried pulling on it and its very stubborn and seems like a piece of aluminum that the trim is holding onto.

Do i keep pulling to get it off? Because it looks like if i did get it off it would be the biggest pain to get back on??
