First off, hi there everybody. Read a couple of the posts from here in the past, but never decided to register until now. Ok, now down to the meat and potatoes.
I own a 2006 Tiburon GTS 5 speed v6. The car has 48k on it, I purchased it about 2 years ago before I left on a deployment to Afghanistan. The year I was home, and while I was gone, my girlfriend drove the car a little as well. In all, we have only put 16k on the car in 2 years. Yesterday, the transmission bit the dust. I think that it's in the differential portion where the CV's mate to the tranny. Car will roll forward and the drive train will bind and stop the car from moving. This happens whether the car is in gear, clutch is engaged, nothing makes it roll without this binding. I am an accomplished mechanic, with 13 years as one for the military. I am looking mainly for info on pulling the sub frame and what I might need to swap for the 6SPD. Thanks guys.
