So, I clutched in to let traffic pass before making the left-hander into my driveway, and the car stalled fairly abruptly. I'm torn as to whether or not a "pop" sound occurred when it stalled, but in any case, I can't even crank it now. It's as though everything in the engine is stuck and the starter motor can't turn the twisted mass inside the engine.
From what I can tell, there is no leak in the hydraulics for the clutch. There is no difference in the feel of the pedal, so I'm fairly certain it's still working and is not stuck down. I have had a throw out bearing fail in the past, so I know what that feels and sounds like.
What should I look at next? What would prevent an otherwise working car from cranking, as though something has jammed everything up? I have the pangs of dread that it could be a timing-related issue, but from what I've read, it doesn't seem that the inability to crank is a symptom of a snapped timing belt.
The car is an 04' GT 5MT with 110k mi, and a new timing belt was installed at 60k.
