I've almost got all the parts I need for my turbo setup, but one of the things I'm missing is an FPR, and I'm having some difficulty understanding why I need it aside from the fact that 'I need it'. I've done quite a bit of googling trying to find information regarding it but haven't had much luck.
So I've installed a higher power pump in my car. A walbro 190. So my fuel system PSI has been raised. And theoretically this would be the point where I would want an upgraded FPR turbo or not, right? Is my stock FPR just dumping excess fuel back more or less negating the effects of the pump?
Am I right in understanding that an upgraded FPR will be able to hold higher PSI in the fuel rails? The point being that I can deliver more fuel at a given point?
Any helpful links would be greatly appreciated. I'm sorry if this is a commonly posted topic. I've searched on the forums as well and didn't really find any helpful information.
Along with this, Aeromotive seems to be the way to go. Anybody have any experience with cheaper FPRs? I can't imagine there's too much innovation that goes into one, a diaphragm and spring inside of a metal housing can't be too complicated to manufacture...
