I'm trying to correct a P0340 (cam position sensor) error on my daughter's '03 4-cyl Tiburon.
I replaced the sensor and used contact cleaner on the connectors and cleared the code with my code reader, but it keeps coming back. The engine runs OK with the one exception: occasionally at start-up, the idle will over-rev.
I bought the replacement sensor at Autozone. I just looked on Autozone.com and noticed they list two sensors for an '03 4-cyl: one for engines with "CVVT" and one without. A bit of digging on the 'net tells me "CVVT" is "Continuously Variable Valve Train." How do I determine if this engine has CVVT? Is it possible I bought and installed the wrong sensor (but runs) and still gives me the P0340 code?
One last question... is the ECM module in the interior on the passenger's side firewall?
