I have a 2004 4cyl with just over 60,000 miles and my clutch is going to need replacing in the next few months, I'm hoping to get it done with my tax refund. I don't know a whole lot about transmissions besides what I've read on here. My question is what kind of clutch/flywheel set up would be best for me?
I drive about 140 miles a week to school in heavy traffic, with a couple commutes from Orlando to Miami each month, so i need something that wont be a PIA in heavy traffic. But I do love driving the tib and like to put my foot down every now and then.
A FX200 Stage 2 Clutchmaster kit with a Fidanza lightweight flywheel seem to be pretty popular, but I'm worried about encountering problems later down the road. I also don't want to spend an unnecessary amount of money and want something that is going to last! Does anybody know how much an OEM replacement would cost? Also what are the advantages/disadvantages of a lightweight flywheel as opposed to a dual mass, and do you have to replace the flywheel with the clutch?
Basically i just need to make the decision between OEM and Aftermarket, and if i go with an aftermarket setup, which one? it's a lot of money for a college kid and its kinda daunting!
I know i asked a lot of questions but if anybody can answer any one of them I'd really appreciate it!
