So, whoever owned my tib before me has cut at least the front pre-cat out of my exhaust manifolds, welded a flange in place, then a piece of straight pipe was added.
Seeing as getting headers in Australia is pretty pricey for anything but ebay crap, I was going to get a new custom Y pipe made up, and connect that to the stock manifolds. Since my dad is a boilermaker, making an equal length Y pipe with mandrel bends will be nothing for him. I'll also get a high flow cat welded in at the same time. This will be pretty cheap, as I will only need to pay for materials.
The only thing I am curious about is the stock exhaust manifolds. With the pre-cats removed, will the stock manifolds with a new Y pipe be a viable replacement to a set of aftermarket headers performance wise??
