So I bought a 2003 Hyundai Tiburon GT today.
What should I be worried about? What should I NOT be worried about?
I plan on doing a tune up and oil change next paycheck (2 weeks).
The car sounds great and shifts smoothly.
I noticed that when I was buying it the battery was completely dead, I mean they had just gotten it in and were doing maintenance on it when he wanted to show me (I did not go in looking for a particular car) so it wasn't a big issue. Obviously I said ok well you need to fix these things before I buy it, door handle (which I have found is a very common issue with these cars), power window (passenger) wouldn't go up, and a new battery. Anyways, that really isn't the issue, the issue is when I went to get gas (It was below E), I had trouble getting it to start, it didn't do this AT ALL when I test drove it and I started it and killed it a few times. so my thinking is, it was very low on gas and maybe that is what the issue was, it was pretty much out, I don't know a lot about cars but that concerned me a lot, I mean I only got 500ft from the dealership after buying this car before this happened. Gave it some gas stuck it in 1st and drove on, no more issues, got to work killed it for 5 minutes or so and it started right up. I'm at work now so lets hope it was just low on gas.
The car itself runs great, shifts great, sounds great, so I hope this was a good buy.
How many of the 03 GT's are 5 speed and how many are 6 speed?
Anyways, I thought I would get into the discussion.
