Transmission issue after clutch replacement

Hey guy, just did a clutch/flywheel job on a 03 tiburion v6 with the 5 speed transmission. Ran into a issue when attaching the shifter linkage. The bottom pin/bracket that the linkage attaches to on the transmission works fine, as in the moves through the gears. The issue I'm having is that the upper pin/bracket won't budge at all. It is stuck. If I attach the linkage, the shifter will only move up and down from third to fourth. It won't move left and right. Any ideas? If needed I can post of the pins/brackets on the transmission to clarify.
