Help me newtiburon, you're my only hope!
Not really sure what's going on, so I figured I'd ask you guys. :D
So far every day at night time (doesn't do this during the day) when I go to start my car she'll chug a bit and not start. I turn the key over several times, and it'll persist, then she'll start right up and run fine. Won't do it again either for the rest of the day.
BUT, when she does this, it throws a code. I just got back from stopping by autozone to have them run the code, and the code scanner doesn't connect to my car. It says there's no vehicle present.
There's no mods on the car, other than a custom low-tone exhaust the previous owner had put in.
When I let off the gas and push in the clutch, the RPMs stay high before leisurely dropping back down. Only gear it doesn't do this in is 5th and 6th. I get the feeling my car is running too lean, based on the way it'll hesitate unless I open her wide up. I did the patented old fashioned "Sniff the exhaust" test, and the exhaust smelled really dry, and had no noticeable gasoline smell.
What are the reasons it might be doing this, and what are the fixes starting from the most likely, to the least likely?
Thank you in advanced for any advice!
