hesitation issue... any ideas?

Hi I have searched around and found no answer to my question:
I've been having some severe hesitation problem on my car lately... it's 03 V6 with 110k on it.
so i am trying to identify the cause of the hesitation...
today i took my DMM and tried to test the TPS. as the manual said i put the key in, turned to ON position and checked the resistance between terminal 1 and 2 on the sensor side (that's left and center pins). without the engine running it was 1.05kohm in the idle position and 2.77kohm in the WO position (the resistance changed gradually with throttle opening)... so the manual said it had to be from 3.5 to 6.5 kohms right? does that mean my TPS has failed or is it normal? i mean someone on the forum said in the other threads that resistance will not be ideal in the TPS... but it's really different to the specs right?
so the question is, should i go ahead and buy the TPS or should i carry on checking other parts as well? any ideas on what can be causing the hesitation?
I don't know if that's a coincidence, but the hesitation problem started occuring since i installed HID low beams on my car...
let me describe the problem i detail:
let's say the car is cold. when start it, it struggles to maintain the idle rev level and sometimes even stalls. when i rev up for a couple of seconds, the rev levels out and goes to the normal 700rpms. but then, when i start moving, even if the engine is warm, around 2k-3k rpm, the car feels all jerky and the lack of power is definately there. also if i press the throttle fully, the car hesitates really badly and gains it's normal power only around 4.5k rpm or so... then it accelerates ok....

anyway, if anyone knows what could be tested/done in the situation, let me know.
thanks.
