I have a 2005 Hyundai Tiburon GT V6 2.7l engine. 5 speed manual. I bought it from and individual about 8 months ago and the day I bought it the clutch blew out so I got it replaced at a local mechanic shop. The clutch kit they put in is from Luk. The parts number is 05-112. Which is actually made by Valeo. I called Valeo and the parts number for it is 52252603. Luk just happens to sell Valeo parts. Anyways, recently there appeared to be a transmission fluid leak under the car. I brought it back to the mechanic that put the clutch in to take a look at it. They thought it was a rear main seal. I brought it to another place and they took it apart and it turns out the pressure plate was rubbing against one spot on my transmission and wore into it enough to where a crack formed. Enough to where its leaking fluid. Almost like the pressure plate was off balance or something. Has anyone ever seen this happen before or happen to know what could have happened? Now I have to get a new tranny, solid flywheel, and clutch. (solid flywheel because the dual is crap) and the mechanic that replaced the clutch said it wasn't his fault because its similar to the 2003 Tiburon mess so it will be at my cost. What should I do?
