Here's what I know so far....
Haven't had any related issues other than it not starting quite as well in the freezing winter temps we've had. Drove home from work one night, everything good, parked it in the garage. Went out the next day to leave and all I get is a click when I turn the key. Tried to jump it, still nothing. Now, since I bought my car new in 05 and had not replaced the battery yet, I assumed it was done. Went and bought a new battery and hooked it up, still the same. Then came the research and troubleshooting. No noticeable corrosion on terminals. Ground cable between firewall and IM looks fine. Clutch safety button is fine. Checked some fuses....didn't find any bad. Disconnect and reconnected the battery. Fuel pump kicks on when I turn the key. All my lights come on, windows roll down, etc.
Must be he starter then, right?
So I wanna try the old hit the starter with a hammer trick. I THINK I found it....just under my front set of headers with a small heat shield in front of it?
How can I reach in there to tap it with a hammer while someone is turning the ignition when I can barely even see/reach it?
Any help from someone with experience would be greatly appreciated.
