Throwout bearing not snapping into pressure plate.

I am working on a 2004 elantra with a 5 speed transmission that uses the pull type clutch system. I believe the clutch and trans are pretty similar to the ones in the 4cyl tiburons, but anyways I have installed a new clutch set in the car and cannot get this throwout bearing to seat correctly.

I installed it on the clutch forks and tried repeatedly to push it into the snapring but it never would snap in. Finally today I loosened the bolts to the trans some and tried to seat it and it finally snapped in. Unfortunately when I moved the slave cylinder a few times it somehow became unseated. I could really use some help on what Im doing wrong here. I've never had issues like this with a clutch job before.

I am fairyly certain the clutch and pressure plate are lined up as they should be but I could be mistaken. Its the only thing I havent taken back apart at this point. I have pulled the trans 3 or 4 times to inspect everything and I cant see anything wrong. If anyone has any advice on anything else I may be over looking I could really use it. Thanks.
