Road holding ability

I've just gotten back to the States after a long hiatus from my Tib. While abroad, I had a Focus RS and would like to have a similar on road manner. I'd like to avoid the on throttle torque steer if at all possible; but would still like the simple mechanical grip, and road holding manner that I had with the RS.

Is there any one that would have a recommendation for a coil over, sway bar, tire combo, et cetera that would give a result that I'm looking for?
