clocking a turbo

i bought a td05hr turbo for my 2.0l tibby. i also have a large faced intercooler kit and a weapon r intake. the turbo manfold i bought, when mounting the turbo itself, places the turbo too low and at the wrong angle. ive read a bit about "clocking a turbo" which is turning the actual turbo inside of the housing to get it positioned the way you want it to match your engine setup. if i could turn the turbo a bit it would all line up but when reading about clocking, it tells me i need to disconnect my westgate from the turbo, take the turbo out of the housing and then drill out the stud that holds the turbo from being able to be rotated within the housing.then to rebolt the turbo into the housing and weld the westgate into its new spot if you cant bolt it back up so that the oil feed is pointed up for gravity. i am very reluctat to just DRILL the inside portion of my very expensive turbo without being reassured this is the correct way of clocking my turbo. i need to clock it so that my intercooler pipes will line up right. can anybody reassure me that ths is the correct way to clock that turbo before i start just drilling and grinding on my turbo? hah. thankyou
