So i wanted to get my hub/hub knuckle off of the car so i can take it to a shop and have some new bearings machine pressed in the knuckle, then put it back on. My only issue is the cv axle is stuck in the damn hub. Ive tried wacking the crap out of it which from what ive seen is how to get them off but it wont break lose. I have maybe moved in 1/4 inch further back in the hub but it still has the same amount of resistance as before.
What am I doing wrong? Fyi, when hitting it with a hammer(soft hammer) I have everything bolted in to some degree so the shock isnt absorbed by other components instead of the shaft.
Anybody got ideas?
