Gas pedal not smooth? Please help!!

I own a 2005 Tiburon GT and the gas pedal is not very smooth. Normally in manual transmission vehicles I can flutter the gas pedal nice and smooth to take off from a stop, on my car it feels like it sticky and not smooth for the first 2 to 3 inches making this impossible. Once I get past the first couple inches the pedal is smooth. I tried pushing the throttle on the throttle body and it feels smooth? I tried spraying down the cable but I don’t think it did anything. Is this a common problem with the gas pedal assembly’s on these cars and is there a fix?? I tried searching and could not find what I was looking for, I’m even thinking about replacing my gas pedal assembly with the one off a 2003 GT.
