Currently have a carbon fiber hood that is in need of some work.
First its is faded and that needs to be fixed. Ive read you can wet sand it with 800/1000/1200 paper and hit it with a few coats of clear, which I am planning on doing.
The problem is there are a few spot where the resin ha become so thing you can feel the carbon fibers. Guessing from sanding from the previous owner. I feel if i sand it and spray clear coat that these spot will still show if not be damaged from further sanding.
I was thinking about getting carbon fiber epoxy resin and fill in the spots then sand them smooth and after then sand to remove the haze and spray clear coat.
Will this work?
Buying a new hood isn't really in the budget and getting it painted to match the car isn't an idea I like.
