Battery Terminal Question

Hi everyone,
so Ive searched the forums and it seems everyone has the exact opposite problem im having, rather than my positive terminal conection being stuck on with the locking cap, my lock screw no longer sinches down and the cap is just pressed on the post. I live on Oahu and roads other than the highway are bumpy as hell and the vibration loosens my connection on the post which seems to throw my transmission into WTF mode and wont transition from gear to gear instead it just starts bucking until I pull over, remove the terminal and push it back on then it does fine until I hit another bump. So i got two questions, the first, has anyone else experienced this with their automatic transmission im guessing that when the connection is loose theres not enough power to run the shift sensors, I have heard of this happening with corrosion. The second question is can i replace the current cap style terminal with a regular one and connect all the leads directly to the regular terminal tightening bolt or do I need something different, keeping in mind that I dont really trust the cap type anymore its been such a pain I would rather abandon it all together. Id appreciate any input anyone has about the above, and also if there are any Tibby drivers in Hawaii that would like to start a club here in Oahu let me know. Thanx everybody
