Headlight Resto

I used diamond paste on an orbital buffer trying to remove the first layer of oxidation in my headlights and now there's yellow splotches in two spots that won't go away. I've dried dry sanding with my drill wheel and the discolored spots still wont go away. The yellow looks like some of the left over paste and even spreads at some points when sanding. Any ideas?
