I have a cheap orbital polisher that I used to use and I always put the wax on with the terry cloths. Since my paint is messed up I decided to buy a little 3m compound and used a little foam pad from my 3m headlight restoration kit on my drill and it did wonders (used 3m compound, then 3m polishing and last meguirs wax) <---- this is just a FYI
since I liked what it did I wen to autozone and bought this:

it has a "supersoft polishing bonnet" and a foam polishing bonnet.
My question is... what is the supersoft polishing (although it looks and feels like wool), foam and terry cloth used for? which one is for the rubbing compound, polish and wax.
