Hi I am a current proud owner of a 2002 Pontiac Bonneville. This car has been my trusted workhorse for 2 years. Problem is it's a big workhorse. With no manual transmission option, a huge body and it's seen better years. It sits currently at around 270,000km and I don't see it living too much longer. I have identified the '03-'08 Tiburon GT (V6 2.7 and 6 Speed manual) as a prime contender to replace it. I'm looking for models with lower KM and set my budget at 10,000 CDN. I am wondering at a few questions.
I have heard allot about transmission clutch problems. This doesn't scare me cause I personally plan on upgrading that anyway. But what common problems I should really lock out for?
Any common body rust?
What engine parts commonly fail?
What tire/rim combinations work for performance?
Recommended brakes/shoe combinations
My priorities are to upgrade handling/braking first then working on the engine.
Thank You in advance, any tips/advice is greatly appreciated.
