The symptoms are that when I start it, it idles rough. it will jump around RPMs from 200-1200. No engine code, though (yet). I gave it throttle once and it whined like a slight shreek/scream. When I turned it off and walked up to the engine bay, I smelled a slight smell of gas (I didn't unhook any gas lines in the process).
I'm 80% sure I hooked everything back up, and correctly (I can go through the list if necessary). I'm 99% sure I tightened the plugs into their slots, I'm 95% sure I pressed down on the wire leads to that they grab the plug, I'm 100% sure the spark plug wires are in the correct order.
There is a slight crack in the hose that connects the 2 valve covers on the left side of the engine (crack is on hose that plugs to front valve cover. I have it wrapped in ****** duct tape. But that wouldn't cause this, would it?
I'm guessing the spark plugs are pre-gapped (NGK coppers), they appeared to be the same gap as the ones I pulled out. I may have tightened them past 18ft/lb but not by that much.
Any suggestions?
