Ok so last weekend my friend who is a mechanic at my local hyundai dealership changed my timing belt for me. While he was doing that I asked him to investigate some other noises and problems I was having. He came back with a long list of things, and I was a little over whelmed. He can't bring my car into the dealership to do the work anymore because he wasn't supposed to in the first place, so I'm trying to figure out what I can fix myself, and what I need to take to a mechanic.
Here's the list:
I don't have access to a lift or specialized tools. What is possible for me to do, and what do I need to take to a mechanic? Should I get my friend to order me the hyundai parts or is there anything that I should replace with after market (I'm thinking engine mounts, plugs, wires)?
Thanks
Here's the list:
- Noisy upper strut tops
- Left front sway bar end link has some play and may be causing some clunking
- Rear roll mount is torn through
- One of the engine supports is torn through
- Right front axle is throwing grease
- Rear pads are low and there is a pretty large rust lip on the rotors, calipers need to be lubed (I've been hearing a whine from the rear and he is thinking these things are why)
- Need new plugs and wires
