Recently replaced my head unit and added a subwolfer with my wallet in mind.
Replaced my Infinity head unit with a new kenwood with ipod capability and used a PAC 4 channel line out convertor to connect it to the factory amp. A little skeptic at first but the sound quality is not bad at all for a factory amp.
wanted subs in the car but need to keep the truck space for I either have snowboards or surf boards in there. yes it is a very tight squeeze.
Decided to take advantage of the factory sub box and replaced the infinity sub with a 8" kicker comp running 175 watts rms from a 250 watt kicker mono channel amp.
Really impressed with how this sub sounds in the small car.
After installation there was a horrible rattle coming from the sub turned out the box sits on the metal trunk pan which resonated the sound way too much. After some Dynamat it was good to go.
