Got a stance build in mind - need opinions

$

Alrighty. After a lot of browsing and research ive come up with a potential stance setup for my 05 GT.

Wheels and tires:

215/40-18 Nitto NeoGen Tires
Staggered STR 606 RS wheels
18x8 +30 up front, and 18x9 +35 in the back.

Suspension would likely be raceland or megan coils, dropping 1-2 in the front, and 2-3 in the back if possible.

Now onto my questions.
Ive seen a lot of conflicting opinions about how well NIttos can stretch.
1. Is 215 on a 9-inch wheel a crazy stretch, or should I not worry about it?
2. Since im running on stock suspension at the moment, will i still have to do fender rolling?
3. Spacers? From what ive seen about the tiburons measurements in the rear, I wont be able to fit a 9 inch rim without spacers.
4. Camber. Will i be able to drop it at all without camber?

Few things to note. I already have the tires. Tire size will stay the same no matter what wheels I get, so I am upgrading to 18s. This is my daily driver.

Ten Years Ago Today...

Was Friday, July 2nd, 2004...the day I signed the papers for my brand-new 2004 Hyundai Tiburon GTV6 6 speed. It had less then 40 miles on it at the time. I signed up at NT soon after.

The 'heavy hitters' at the time were Dingleweed, Laura (can't remember her s/n, it's been so long), Mine's Better, Myst, Lou, and a few others that don't come to mind. Around that time, TC and Lou blew up Lou's car making a twin-charged 12 second pass, which was the fastest anyone had gone yet. Alpine was the big power adder, and I think there were one or two custom turbo cars around. Ross at RIPP was blowing up everything he could get his hands on, TC still answered the phone, sold parts, and cared about his customers...and the two of them squabbled like little old ladies. It was an exciting time to be on NT.

Later that year, I saw Laura's "S/C Tib vs SRT4" video, and I was hooked. That winter, I ripped my car apart with only 8,000 miles on it, and built it up. I built it, raced it, broke it, and stored it more times than I can count. At one point, it sat for nearly three years.

I still have the car today. It's been stored every winter, only has about 60k on it, and it's making in the neighborhood of 350 whp with a NGM engine, NGM Assassin blower setup, and gazillion bolt ons. I will probably never sell it. As a matter of fact, I drove it to work today to celebrate.

Cheers!

P0133 Error Code CEL. O2 sensor slow

Hi,

I got a CEL in my 2008 SE V6 Tiburon. I used Torque on Android and a bluetooth OBD II adaptor and it says code P0133 slow O2 sensor bank 1. It happened in the past and it disappeared but now it came back and it stays on. I went to Hyundai dealership and the spare parts guy doesn't know which sensor is bank 1. It doesn't show on the computer, according to him.
The price for the sensor is $160. The car is stock. Any recommendations? Is it easy to replace the sensor myself? Is $160 reasonable?
I appreciate your help.

Help me figure out this engine ticking....

Hey Everyone, I'm new to this forum, but have owned a Tib for just over a year.

I have an 2005 2.0 Tiburon. It has developed a engine ticking. Can someone help me figure out what the issue(s) could be??

My problem:
Engine makes a ticking noise whenever I'm cruising above ~2800 rpm. It sounds like its coming from the valve cover area. The engine doesn't tick when I'm accelerating, or decelerating. It only ticks when "cruising" on flat pavement. It doesn't seem to matter if the engine is warm or not.

Some extra info:
I did some research, and found using an aftermarket oil filter can cause this. There WAS an aftermarket oil filter in there, for about 10 months. I have since put in a Hyundai filter in, but the ticking didn't go away.

I've read on here that it can be the HLAs (Hydraulic Lash Adjusters), but after some research, I'm pretty sure my Tib has MLAs (Mechanical Lash Adjusters) not HLAs. I don't think MLAs are prone to the same issues HLAs are, but I'm not sure.

Can some one confirm which engine I have?? I believe it is the G4GC, but it could be another model. A big difference between the G4GC and others, is the use of MLAs instead of HLAs.

I'm thinking the problem could be worn out components in the valve train, timing belt requires changing, a bad oil pump, or a bearing somewhere in the engine (I sure hope not though).

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks!

My 2003 Tiburon GT was my first car, and I had some great times and learning experiences with it. Unfortunately the timing belt of my Tiburon broke while driving, and I am looking to sell it as is. If you're interested in scooping a fixer-upper or getting a second tiburon for parts, you might be interested in my car.

Check out my member profile for detailed pics, and the for sale section for details on the car. Let me know your best offer, there's still lots of value in the car!

Looking for a cracked, or broken headlight that's in terrible/unusable condition.. The only thing I need from this headlight is the Signal reflector on the inside, as mine is missing it somehow :/

I'm looking to buy a broken one because I assume the price will be a lot cheaper if I can find one.. I'll include a picture to show which part I actually need in working order from the headlamp. Thanks.

Header piping size

So me and one of my friends are going to weld up an exhaust header for my Tib, and I was just looking for some info to use when we get the bends/piping to make it and weld it all up.

So, what I was curious about, is what size piping should come right off the head flange? I've read 1.5" bends and piping works pretty good, just need some further insight!

Thanks

Custom IACV wiring harness help

$

Okay, so I need to bypass the current IACV harness as it is damaged somewhere and I cannot figure it out.

The IACV has a three pin connector, and per my understanding of the setup from the schematics I needs to source pins 1 and 3 from connector C133-3, the 52 pin connector on the ECU. Pin 2 would be sourced from pin 20 on connector C142, though it looks like all of the pins on the bottom of that connector are jointly connected.

Additionally, it looks like the best way to get through the firewall is going to be near the clutch fluid reservoir, just below the driver's side wiper.

I posted the schematics from the shop manual below, and want to double check that my understanding of this is correct and that what I'm planning to do with my bypass should work. I will be using 18 gauge stranded wire and rosin flux solder to put this all together where I tap into the harnesses, and then it'll be sealed in flex tubing. Anything else I should make sure I do?

Thanks for the help!

2003 ac issue

Hi and thanks in advance for taking the time to read this...

First I have a 2003 gt v6 5 speed. No major mods just a stage 2 clutch.
The issue I'm having is that my ac doesn't blow cold. I've checked some other posts but they didn't really help.
I noticed that my ac clutch wasn't engaging so I checked my fuses and found that the fuse under the hood was missing so I put a new one In And still no cold air. I bought a recharge kit with a pressure gauge so that I could check my pressure. I hooked it up and found that I had perfect pressure levels. I decided to take it to a shop to have them release the r134 since it's illegal to do it california without being certified. I put new freon in but still no cold air.
I'm officially out of ideas and since summer is here and it's been averaging over 90 degrees everyday here, I'm dying of heat.
Any advice would be very appreciated
